For all of you who have ever had a job
Journal Entry: Thu Apr 24, 2008, 7:27 PM
The allusion of Job is highly relevant to the matter of ones job, in that through perseverance through the arrogant, Godlike superiority complex of ones boss, one can eventually get paid. Like Job, the average worker is obliged to labor through the arduousness, a test of faith to ones family. As Satan tests the integrity of Job, the average worker is often times compelled to disregard ones duties for the more the favorable temptations of leisure; call in sick on a Monday morning, sleep in, and enjoy the day in the splendor of the sun as opposed to the fluorescent lighting of a cubicle. In all, the story of Job is one that all working class citizens can easily relate to. It is indeed ironic that in the Book of Job, the name of the person who suffers the most is spelled J-O-B. The irony arisen from the more common situations is that often times, ones employer it not compelled to generously reward one of its laborers for not crossing over to the dark side; the rival company blocking its way from a monopoly. That is, Bill Gates is not likely to make a bet with his Japanese counterpart Masaru Ibuka, on the probability of one of his workers relinquishing company secrets for better pay .Equally, the likelihood of Gates saying Hey, Bill, I just wanted to thank you for not giving up the design for Xbox 360. Because of that, and that our console will obliterate the competition of the PS3, Im giving you a raise ten times that of your salary. Mind you, wages in third world countries tend to be miniscule in comparison to the US minimum wage. Thus it would seem that though the bible glorifies ones perseverance in the name of God and devotion to Him, that ones employer isnt likely to elongate the weekend to five days, and workweek to two. None the less, people work on, displaying their devotion, or obligation, to earn their keep and care for themselves and their families.

I model for artistic and expressive purposes, not to bitch about everything."
